The non-profit Utah Assistive
Technology Foundation (UATF) was organized in 1991. The UATF is
a 501(c)(3) Federal tax exempt private foundation incorporated under
the laws of the state of Utah.
The mission of the UATF is to assist Utah citizens with disabilities
by enhancing their independence, education, employment, and quality
of life through the use of assistive technology. The UATF also helps
individuals with disabilities to obtain the assistive technology devices
and services they need to communicate, complete daily tasks, succeed
in inclusive classrooms, work competitively, and participate in community
activities.
The objectives of the UATF are to:
- Ensure that assistive technology devices and services are affordable
and obtainable for children and adults with disabilities.
- Secure public and private donations
to help individuals obtain assistive technology devices and services.
All donations are tax deductible.
- Develop and implement resource distribution
criteria (loan
requirements).
- Provide information to consumers, family members and providers
regarding assistive technology needs and resources.
The Executive Director of the Utah Assistive Technology Foundation is
Marilyn Hammond, Ph.D.
