What is TeleWork?
TeleWork is a program offered through the non-profit Utah Assistive Technology Foundation that provides affordable, zero-interest loans to Utahns with disabilities to purchase equipment to work from home. What kind of equipment can I buy with the loan?
Equipment to work from home such as computer software or hardware, videoconferencing equipment, personal digital assistant or other portable electronic equipment, fax machines and scanners, and telecommuting technology can be purchased with a TeleWork loan. Loans can also be provided to make your home more accessible and to create a home office for telework.

Loans are available to qualified applicants to purchase equipment to be used to work from home or to make home modifications to create an accessible workspace. UATF loans are signature loans and do not require a down payment.

Who is eligible?
Utah residents of working age with a disability who need equipment or home modifications in order to work from home are eligible to apply for a loan. Family members may apply on behalf of other family members with disabilities.

The interest rate is 0 %.

How much time will I have to pay off a loan?
Loan terms are set by Zions Bank, but typically must be paid off in 24 months.

Who approves these loans?
Initial eligibility for the loans is determined by UATF staff. Final loan approval is made by Zions Bank, based on credit history, debt, and income. Loans made through this program are through Zions Bank. The UATF pays the interest, but DOES NOT make the loans.

How long will it take to approve and process my application?
After you have supplied the UATF with all of the necessary paper work, please allow approximately 3 to 4 working days from the date you send us your application for Zions Bank to make a decision.

Will my credit report/history be used to determine my eligibility for a loan?
Yes. In order for Zions Bank to make final approval for your loan, they will review your credit history. If you apply for a loan, the bank will obtain your credit report.

If I am currently filing for bankruptcy, can I get a loan?
No.

If I have ever filed for bankruptcy, can I get a loan?
Possibly. Complete a loan application to see if you are currently eligible for a loan through this program. Loan eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis.

Do I need to show proof of disability or justification for the equipment or home modification?
No. The only information you will need, in addition to the completed application forms, is for the equipment you are purchasing. However, the UATF Board reserves the right to ask for additional information in unusual circumstances.

If approved, how long will it take to get the loan documents and the money?
